Margaret A. Price Findlay is a native of Trinidad and Tobago and is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Faculty of Law (LLB. (Hons), 1985) and the Hugh Wooding Law School (Certificate of Legal Education, 1987). 

She was admitted to practice as an attorney in 1987 in Trinidad and Tobago and as a solicitor and barrister of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) in 1991. Margaret was in private practice in Trinidad and Tobago from1987-1990 and in the BVI from 1991 – 1994. In 1995, Margaret founded the Chambers of Price Findlay & Co., where she is the senior partner. 

In 1995, Margaret served as Acting Magistrate of the BVI and from 1995 – 1996, she served as Acting Registrar of the High Court of the BVI. She has been a lecturer in Tort Law, Criminal Law and Family Law at the University of the West Indies. Her overview of the British Virgin Islands has been published in the Offshore Financial Centres Report (2003).

Margaret’s main practice areas are Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Corporate Law and Family Law.

Susan V. Demers is a native of New York City and is a graduate of New York University’s Washington Square College of Arts and Science (B.A., 1974) and New York University’s School of Law (J.D., 1977). She was admitted to practice in 1978 in New York; in 1979 in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; in 1981 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; in 1988 in U.S. Supreme Court; and in 1994 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Susan was admitted to practice as a solicitor of England and Wales and the British Virgin Islands (BVI) in 2001 and awarded the Higher Courts (Civil Proceedings) Qualification by the Law Society of England and Wales in 2003. However, Susan does not currently hold a practising certificate in England and Wales. 

Susan was in private practice in New York from1977-1978 and in the BVI from 2001-2003. She served as a Staff Attorney and Director of the Matrimonial Unit in the Bronx Neighborhood Office of the Legal Aid Society from 1978-1982 and as an Assistant District Attorney and Deputy Bureau Chief (Criminal Court Bureau) in the Office of the District Attorney of Queens County, New York from 1982-1983. In 1984, Susan joined the Administration of Governor Mario M. Cuomo of New York, where she served from 1984-1988 as Associate Commissioner and Deputy General Counsel and from 1988-1994 as Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel in the New York State Department of Social Services (DSS). 

During her tenure at DSS, Susan supervised and managed one of the largest government law offices in New York, with a staff of over 150 lawyers and 150 support staff persons. Since 1994, Susan has served as a Legal Consultant on various issues of social welfare policy. After moving to the BVI in 1995, she became a Legal Consultant to the Government of the BVI on domestic violence issues and is a member of the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council. Susan also spent 5 years in the offshore financial services industry where she served as a Trust Officer, Trust Manager and Director of Trust and Fiduciary Services for an international financial services company. 

Susan has been a trainer in matrimonial law and trial practice in New York. Her article about her experiences with litigation in the Cuomo Administration, The Failures of Litigation as a Tool for the Development of Social Welfare Policy, was published at 22 Fordham Urban Law Journal 1009 (1995). Susan’s main practice areas are Trusts and Estates, Corporate Law, Civil Litigation and Family Law. She is a member of the BVI Bar Association, the Law Society of England and Wales (non-practising), the International Bar Association, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates.
